Daniel Craig requests Gay Love Scene in next Bond Movie

In the follow-up of Casino Royale, Daniel Craig is trying to convince producers to include a gay sex scene between Bond and another man. He has also confessed he is completely prepared to film a full-frontal nude scene to please both his male and female admirers.

"Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it," Craig told IOL. "I mean, look at Doctor Who - that has had gay scenes in it and no one blinks an eye."

We’re not so sure the execs would dig the idea too much. Last time they tried to change the formula it ended with Bond getting married and the critically agreed worst entry in the series ever (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - 1969). That said, HollywoodSnark is 100% behind the idea.

Why would James Bond SUddenly be gay….after decades of chasing women..??? But then if he is a very liberal kind of man, and open to everything…..why not. I would suggest a younger, very handsome drop dead, that DOESNT GET KILLED……and the dialogue after could still remain his masculinity and love for women. It is true that many so called straight men have had gay experiences…the word “straight” really isnt a 100% thing.So called straight men, know they are supposed to reject gay themes and say I wouldnt wnat ot see that, its discusting…then they go home and do the smae acts with their wives…the world is so hypcritiacal…..and you can blame the GOOD BOOK for that.

It would make more than sense. In espionage there would be situations where you would have to do what you have to do to get information. Look at how cold Bond is with the women he gives it to so that he can give the information from them. It is easy to see how he could maintain this professional attitude no matter who has the information. And I have seen the new bond flick and it is already pretty homo erotic. This plot line would definitely not be a stretch.

If they get a gay scene going the movie it will be such crap….I can see it now: Bond goes over to a man at a bar of a classy restaurant and politely says “May I push your stool in?”. This is ridiculous. I could care less if people are gay. I wouldn’t treat a person any differently for being so, but why the hell are so many media outlets trying to force the issue down our throats (get it). I am not concerned with the views of homosexuality in the Bible, but from a biological standpoint it is a fatal flaw. Biologically, fitness is defined as the ability to produce viable progeny suitable to their environment. Being gay is an evolutionary dead end which equates it to being unnatural and ultimately wrong. I honestly think that many people are now becoming gay because of MTV and movies like this that present it as an acceptable and perfectly reasonable alternative option to heterosexuality. Some people beleive that they are “gay”, and thats fine. I just don’t feel it is something that needs to be universally accepted as an alternative lifestyle. Do unto others…but for gods sake stop encouraging it.

I, for one, do not have any problem with gays. However, as a life-long Bond fan I would be upset to see a gay scene. I’ve always revered the character and this would certainly take away from his mystique, charm, and admiration he receives from fans. It’s just not the right move for Bond. Maybe be playful with a guy to get information, but for the love of God don’t go the distance 007!

This isn’t true. Craig has said he won’t even do another shirtless scene, because he doesn’t want people admiring his abs over his performance. They quashed the gay rumors MONTHS ago, but this still goes on.

I find it really, really funny that someone said that it would turn off Christians and family audiences, considering that in the last one he bashed a man’s head into a sink and someone else beat his testicles with a weight tied to a rope. “Seduction with women and violence with men” you said: yeah, real Christian/family friendly.

I agree with the general sentiment here. i’m not homophobic, i don’t think that homosexuality is wrong or should be shunned or anything, and several of my close friends are gay. I don’t believe that it shouldn’t be acceptable as a public lifestyle, and i fully support gay marriage and whatever else they want to do - what do I care.

However, I also think that such a move would be completely out of the character that is James Bond. He’s the mans man, with cigars, money, vodka, gambling, fast cars, guns, and sex. He’s the epitome of testosterone and womanizing. If you look up “heterosexual” in the dictionary, there’s a picture of James Bond. Even flirting with another man seems unweildy for Bond.

I mean, I’m a massachusetts liberal in every sense of the word, and i love james bond, but honestly if he was real (and American), he’d vote republican. I just don’t see Bond as being that progressive. I mean, look at his sex scenes, you don’t see anything very exotic going on.

Daniel Craig never was and never will be James Bond, and this stupid suggestion of his only strengthens that indeed he doesn’t grasp 007’s spirit.
It’s not about people nowadays “accepting” a gay Bond, Mr. Craig, it’s about who the hell James Bond IS. You can add depth, complexity and vulnerability to a character but you CAN’T destroy the fundamentals of his personality and motivations.
James Bond is a cocky bon-vivant and a lover of women and adventure. You can’t turn him into a bissexual character as much as you can’t make him a shy, introverted and clumsy agent that can’t shoot straight (no pun intended).

Yes, some homophobics are indeed hiding their true sexuality but the majority aren’t.
Some level of homophobia is always present in the culture of heterossexual men. It’s not a bad thing to men, though it can be to some gays and feminists that fought for the right to not be judged for who they are but then started judging others by the same token, believing there’s something “wrong” in men and its culture.

Please…lets leave American politics and religion out of a discussion about a FICTIONAL Character. I think it would be fitting for Bond to have a ‘gay’ scene…after all he is a spy and will/must do what he can for the safety of his nation/organization….shmoozing a gay man to get what he needs would certainly fall under that heading. The old Bond was nothing more that a mysogonist (sp?) and Bonds shoddy treatment of women is a character trait that needs to be dropped. All the past Bonds have treated women like second class citizens, I’m including Dalton and Pierce B in with those other old geezers Connery and Moore.
I like the idea of Bond coming into the 21st century. And this may be fighting words, but there are some of us out there who think that Daniel Craig is the best Bond. ‘Casino Royale’ was the only Bond movie that I’ve seen at the theatre. The rest I’ve caught as re-runs on my local movie channel. Oh yeah, don’t go bashing the Brits/UK for their choices in Sci-Fi…if you don’t like Doctor Who/Torchwood than don’t watch it.

A gay scene in Bond would be great so long as it was in the spirit of the movies. Bond is modernising the switch to a blonde bond would of been unheard of 10 years ago and the graphic torture scene in the last bond has got to be a reference to China/Middle East. A fleeting gay scene would fit the modern direction of bond movies.

I don’t think full-on gay sex is appropiate purely because its such a ’statement’ it would draw attention away from the rest of the film and create a ‘gay bond’, which despite the fact I gay I don’t wanna see. However most gay experiences don’t involve full on sex (i know thats gonna be a shock for you homophs!)

Agents do whatever they need to in the line of duty and bond being ‘the best’ he probably wouldn’t hesitate to extract info from a guy by seducing him. Also with bond being so sex charged i wouldn’t be suprised if he played with the odd guy, if only to see what it was like.

oh and for Derek, Bob and the rest of the homophs, if Bond is such an important role model for your sorry asses, how come he’s never uttered a homophobic comment in ANY of his movies huh? Post 36: Since all canon has established Bond as hetrosexual, I don’t think it would be plausible for him to have relations with another man. IMO it might work for him to sleep with a boy, as the KGB did use prepubescent boys as honey traps for targets whom they suspected of having pederastic leanings (which are actually commoner in hetrosexual men than in gays). Furthermore, Bond may well have enjoyed such relationships at Eton and Fettes, and even Cambridge, where some Colleges employ boy choristers in their chapels. First things first;
A) What a lovely bunch of adverts for heterosexuality we have here! I can’t wait to become one one day so I can suddenly believe everything I see in cinema as an attempt to indoctrinate me into something!
Are Americans really that susceptible? (Well, I suppose they did give us the Transfomers movies).It isn’t being pushed on you, any more than you are pushing your attitudes on others. And anyway, I don’t even remember the last time I saw a gay scene in a film, so I don’t know what you’ve been watching.

B) Being a gay man myself (as if you didn’t guess), I know I did not choose that direction. Do people really think I have a hidden switch somewhere?

C) We don’t all have lisps, limp wrists and go around wearing tutu’s and pouncing on straight guys in the dead of night. And if you keep imagining that, oh dear for you.

D) Politically correct? It would be nice someday, to hear someone say that gay characters are in a film because the writer, etc, was trying to be open-hearted.

E) Homophobic and Anti-British. Well, thats me out on both counts! Incidentally Doctor Who has more soul and heart than most American shows put together. And we don’t make actors or actresses go on diets if they’re the slightest bit chubby. Our industry is less shallow in that respect. And my God, the amount of terrible reality shows you inflict on us!

F) I’d do the religious aspect too - as I am a Christian - but I’m tired now. But if God is going to kick me into hell, I will at least know that it was his fault for making me attracted to men and not women.

I think most of you need to grow up. And try to care more for other people. That is cause of most of problems. People don’t give a monkeys about other people.

A Gay Bond? Meh. If it was for plot-reasons, then okay. He is quite a sex monster afterall. On the other hand, he can be quite one-dimensional at times and this would flesh his character out a bit.
