Snark Pass Of The Week: James Brown’s Sort Of Widow

If anyone deserves a break, it’s woman who loses her husband on Christmas Day, then gets locked out of her own home. The unfortunately named Tomi Rae Hynie was barred from entering the home she shared with late partner James Brown after court records revealed their marriage was not legal. Hynie, who was married to a man from Texas when she married Brown in 2001, was locked out of the couple’s South Carolina home and will remain so until Brown’s estate has been settled.

“This is my home. I don’t have any money. I don’t have anywhere to go.” stated Hynie, who has a 5 year old son with Brown. Good Gravy, how gruesome does it get? Homeless and Widowed on Christmas? I think that deserves a little compassion.
