Stern Files Appeal In Dannielynn Paternity Case

Howard Stern will be appealing the judge’s directive to conduct the DNA test in order to determine the child’s paternity. The unnamed legal sources claimed that lawyers for Howard K. Stern were drafting papers to block Judge Stephen Issacs’ order on Tuesday that mandated the paternity test. Despite the fact that DNA has already been gathered from Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, Howard K. Stern can still attempt to block the results from being issued to the courts, or if he is fast enough, can halt the test before the results are known.

Can someone explain to me what the purpose of a delayed appeal would serve? What’s the motivation to keep the results such a secret? As the father, wouldn’t he want to get the results ensuring that noone could separate him from his daughter so he could say Shove It to Birkhead and get on with raising his child?
