America Snubs Its Idols

It’s the American Idol Season Finale tonight in which Jordin Sparks will face off with Blake Lewis to see who gets crowned the next Pop Flavor of the Month. But who will be watching? Not as many people as the Fox executives would like:

FOX and wunderkind Simon Fuller hit with a historic TV upset Tuesday night — after ABC’s ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ competition pulled in higher ratings than ‘AMERICAN IDOL’! DANCING scored a 16.5 rating/25 share to IDOL 16.3/25, in what network insiders are calling a ‘photo-finish’.

Oh SNAP! Who woulda thunk a whole lot of glittery sequins and one fake leg could have brought down the Idol Train to a screeching halt? I would rather watch Joey Fatone do the Hippy Hippy Shake than Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest fight the undeniable sexual attraction that worms its way to the surface with every caustic barb tossed back and forth like a prison inmate’s salad. Get a room already.
